Is this embed generator really free?
Yes. Generating and copying the embed code costs nothing.
Do I need to install any scripts or plugins?
No. The generated embed is plain HTML with inline CSS, with no JavaScript and no iframe. The post images and the profile picture load through our image proxy, so the embed does call our server when someone views your page.
Will the embed update automatically when I post new content?
No. The embed is a snapshot of your feed at the moment you generate it. To show new posts, generate the code again and replace the old code on your site. Do the same if an image stops showing: the images load through our image proxy from the addresses Instagram gave when you generated the code.
Does this work with private Instagram accounts?
No. The tool can only load public profiles. The account has to be set to public.
Can I customize the number of posts shown?
Yes. The slider in the customizer goes from 3 to 12 posts. The tool loads up to 12 of the account's recent posts.
How does the embed look on phones?
The embed takes the full width of the space you paste it into, and the posts scale with that width. The number of columns stays the one you chose, so check the phone preview if you pick 4.
Will this affect my Instagram account or get me flagged?
The tool never logs in to your account and never asks for a password or an API token. It reads the public profile and recent posts through a data provider: the same information anyone can see on the profile.
Can I use this on Shopify, WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace?
Yes. The embed works on any platform that allows custom HTML. Look for an 'HTML block' or 'Custom Code' widget in your page builder.
