What the calculator shows
Type five numbers, and the card shows your rate and where it sits for an account your size.
Your rate against views
Likes, comments and shares added up, divided by views and multiplied by 100. On TikTok we divide by views, not by followers.
Our typical range
Each size group has our own typical range and a higher line where well above typical starts. The verdict says where your rate sits.
Your size group
Your follower count puts the account in one of five groups, from under 10K to 1M and more. The rate itself still uses views.
Nothing is looked up
You type the numbers and the math runs in your browser. We do not open your TikTok account, and you never log in.
How the TikTok engagement rate calculator works
On Instagram, engagement rate is usually worked out against followers. On TikTok, many views come from people who do not follow the account, because TikTok shows videos beyond the follower list. A rate against followers can make a video look better or worse than it did with the people who watched it, so this calculator divides by views: (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views × 100. Our Instagram engagement rate calculator divides by followers.
We place your rate in our TikTok table for your follower count: 5 to 9% under 10K followers, 4 to 7% for 10K to 100K, 3 to 6% for 100K to 500K, 2.5 to 5% for 500K to 1M, and 2 to 4% for 1M and more. Well above typical starts at 15%, 12%, 10%, 8.5% and 7%, in the same order. The ranges are our own benchmark, not a figure from TikTok.
Take the numbers from your TikTok analytics, or open your profile and average the views, likes, comments and shares of your last 9 to 12 public videos. Averages over several videos move less than the numbers of one video. Followers decide only your size group.
The verdict reads Below typical range under our range, Within typical range inside it, Above typical over it, and Well above typical from the higher line. The math runs in your browser: the calculator makes no request with your numbers, and we never open your TikTok account.

What to know about the engagement calculatorTikTok engagement rate: questions and answers
Answers written from how the calculator works in this page. If your question is not here, our support page shows how to reach our team.
How is TikTok engagement rate calculated?
Add the average likes, comments and shares of your videos, divide by their average views and multiply by 100: (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views × 100. This TikTok engagement rate calculator does it as you type and places the result in our typical range for your follower count.
What is a good TikTok engagement rate?
By our own benchmark, a rate inside the typical range is usual for an account that size: 5 to 9% under 10K followers, 4 to 7% for 10K to 100K, 3 to 6% for 100K to 500K, 2.5 to 5% for 500K to 1M, and 2 to 4% for 1M and more. Over the range reads Above typical, and from 15%, 12%, 10%, 8.5% or 7% (same order) it reads Well above typical.
Why divide by views and not followers?
Many TikTok views come from people who do not follow the account, because TikTok shows videos beyond the follower list. Dividing by views measures how the people who watched responded. Your follower count still sets your size group.
Why is my TikTok engagement low?
The rate is low when many people watched and few of them liked, commented or shared. The calculator shows where your rate sits against our range; it cannot tell you why, and how widely TikTok shows a video is TikTok's decision.
Where do I find these numbers?
In your TikTok analytics, or on your profile: take your last 9 to 12 public videos and average their views, likes, comments and shares. Averages over several videos move less than the numbers of one video.
Does the calculator read my TikTok account?
No. You type the numbers and the math runs in your browser. The calculator sends your numbers nowhere, and you never log in to TikTok.
Can I check someone else's account?
Yes, if you type its public numbers: its followers show on its profile, and views, likes, comments and shares on its videos. Nothing is looked up for you here. Our YouTube engagement rate calculator is the one that looks a channel up from its @handle.
Want more likes on a video?
Our TikTok likes packages add likes to a video you choose. A bought count is not a promise of engagement. Sizes and prices are on the page.
