How the story download works
You type a username into this Instagram story downloader, or paste a profile or story link and we take the username from it. Your browser sends it to our server. You never log in to Instagram, and we never ask for a password.
Our server asks a third-party data provider for the account, then for its active stories. We keep each answer for 1 minute, so looking the same account up again within that time shows the same stories.
Each tile saves one story, photo or video, and the file comes through our server, which passes it on as it is. For a Reel or a video post, use our Instagram video downloader.
One save in this browser is free, and that free save is shared with our other free tools that use this step. After that, we ask you to confirm an email once, with a 6-digit code that works for 10 minutes. The address joins our email list.

How do I download an Instagram story?
To download Instagram story photos and videos with this Instagram story downloader, type the account's username above, or paste its profile link, and press Show stories. The account's active stories show as a row of tiles. Tap a tile to save that story, and your browser saves the photo or video.
Which stories can I save?
The ones the account has active right now. The tool does not read highlights, and each tap saves one story.
Will the account see that I saved its story?
You never log in, and your Instagram account is not used: our data provider reads the story. We cannot see what Instagram shows the story's owner, so we make no promise about it.
Is it free, and why do you ask for an email?
It is free. One save in this browser needs nothing more, and that free save is shared with our other free tools that use the same step. After that, we ask you to confirm an email once, with a 6-digit code we send you; later saves in this browser then run without asking. We keep the address with the username you looked up and your IP address, and the address joins our email list.
Can I see stories from a private account?
The tool reads what a public account shows. A private account's stories do not come back.
Why does it say no stories were found?
The account may have no active story, the username may be misspelled, or the account may keep its stories to its followers. A story posted a moment ago can also be missing: we keep each answer for 1 minute, so look again after that.
What happens to the username I look up?
Our server sends it to our data provider to read the account and its stories, and keeps the answer for 1 minute under that username. The request is logged with your IP address. Tiles and saved files pass through our server, and our CDN and your browser may keep a copy for up to an hour. If you confirm an email, we keep the username with it.
