How the download works
You paste the link of a public post or Reel into this Instagram video downloader, and your browser sends it to our server. You never log in to Instagram, and we never ask for a password. Story links do not work here; stories have their own Instagram story downloader.
Our server asks a third-party data provider for the post, and a second provider if the first cannot read it. It takes the post's video, or its photo when it has no video. From a carousel it takes the first video, or the first slide when there is none.
When you save, the file comes through our server, which passes it on as it is: we do not re-encode it, and we add no watermark.
One save in this browser is free, and that free save is shared with our other free tools that use this step. After that, we ask you to confirm an email once, with a 6-digit code that works for 10 minutes. The address joins our email list.

How do I download an Instagram video?
To download Instagram video posts and Reels with this Instagram video downloader, open the Reel or video post in Instagram, tap Share, then Copy link. Paste the link above and press Get video. When the video shows, press Save video and your browser saves the file. It works as an Instagram Reels downloader too: Reels download the same way, from any public account.
Is it free, and why do you ask for an email?
It is free. One save in this browser needs nothing more, and that free save is shared with our other free tools that use the same step. After that, we ask you to confirm an email once, with a 6-digit code we send you; later saves in this browser then run without asking. We keep the address with the link you saved and your IP address, and the address joins our email list.
What quality is the video?
It is the file our data provider finds for the post. We do not choose a quality, and we do not re-encode the file or add a watermark to it: the save passes the file on as it is.
Can I save photos and carousels?
Yes, one file per post. A photo post saves its photo. A carousel saves one item: its first video, or its first slide when it has no video. There is no way to pick another slide.
Can I download from a private account?
The tool reads public posts. A post from a private account does not come back, so expect no file from one.
Can I download Instagram stories here?
Not with this tool: it does not read story links. Our Instagram story downloader takes a username and shows the account's active stories, which you can save one by one.
What happens to the link I paste?
Our server sends it to our data provider to fetch the post, and to a second provider if that fails. The answer is not cached. The request is logged with your IP address. When you save, the file passes through our server, and our CDN and your browser may keep a copy for up to an hour.
