Instagram fake follower audit

Type a public Instagram account. We read its profile and recent posts, score six public signals, and give an audience score out of 100 with an estimated mix of followers. It is an estimate: we never open a follower's account.

Or paste the profile link. Public accounts only.

The audience score shows here.

What the audit gives you

One report per account, built from its public numbers.

  • A score out of 100

Six signals add up to one audience score from 0 to 100, with a word for it, from very weak to strong.

  • An estimated mix

The shares of followers that look genuine, suspicious or like bots. It comes from a model: no follower is looked at one by one.

  • Six public signals

Each signal shows out of 100 with its weight, so you can see what pulled the score up or down.

  • Public accounts only

A private account is not scored, nor is one with no followers or no recent post we can read. No login, no email.

How the fake follower audit works

You type a username into this Instagram fake follower audit, or paste a profile link and we take the username from it. Our server asks a third-party data provider for the account's profile and for the recent posts on the first page of its answer, and a backup provider when the first has no answer. The result says how many posts were read.

The audience score adds up six signals, each scored 0 to 100: engagement against the rate our model expects for an account of its size (30%), how much the likes vary from post to post (20%), followers against following (15%), comments per like (15%), the number of posts (10%), and profile completeness: a bio, a picture, posts and a verified badge (10%).

The estimated mix comes from four of those signals, engagement for its size, likes from post to post, comments per like and followers to following: the lower they score, the larger the shares that look suspicious or like bots. It is an estimate. We never open a follower's account, so we cannot know who the followers are, whether any were bought, or which ones are inactive. The same data always gives the same report.

We keep the profile for up to 15 minutes and the posts for up to 2 minutes, or up to 6 hours for the profile and 30 minutes for the posts when a backup provider answered, so a recent change can take that long to show. We do not save the username in our database, and the request is logged with your IP address. The audit is free, with no login and no email, and each visitor can make 20 requests a minute.

What to know about the auditFake follower audit: questions and answers

Answers written from how the audit works on our server. If your question is not here, our support page shows how to reach our team.

How does the fake follower audit work?

Type a public Instagram username above, or paste the profile link, and press Run audit. Our server reads the account's profile and recent posts through a third-party data provider, scores six public signals and adds them into an audience score out of 100, with an estimated mix of followers that look genuine, suspicious or like bots. It works as a free Instagram fake follower checker with no Instagram login.

How accurate is it?

We have not tested it against accounts whose followers are known, so we give no accuracy figure. Read the score and the mix as an estimate from public numbers: two accounts with the same numbers get the same report, whoever their followers are.

Does it check each follower?

No. We never read the follower list or open a follower's account. The audit reads the account's own public numbers: its followers, following, posts, bio and picture, and the likes and comments on its recent posts.

What are the six signals?

Engagement against the rate our model expects for an account of its size (30% of the score), how much the likes vary from post to post (20%), followers against following (15%), comments per like (15%), the number of posts (10%), and profile completeness: a bio, a picture, posts and a verified badge (10%).

Can I audit a private account?

No. The audit reads public accounts only. For a private account it says so and gives no score.

Is the account name stored?

We do not save it in our database. We keep the answers under the account name for up to 15 minutes, or up to 6 hours when a backup provider answered, and the request is logged with your IP address.

Does a low score mean the account bought followers?

No. The score says how the account's public numbers sit in our model. Few posts, low engagement for its size, likes that barely vary, few comments or following many accounts all lower it, whoever the followers are. The audit cannot see whether anyone bought followers.
